Jeffrey McDaniel

Jeffrey led a College Readiness after-school workshop for SpeakTogether at Union Settlement in East Harlem in Fall 2015. Jeffrey also performed on stage for Seriously Entertaining at City Winery on June 23, 2014, speaking on the evening’s theme, “Falling For Perfection.” Watch it below.

Jeffrey McDaniel has published six books of poetry, most recently Thin Ice Olympics. He is the recipient of a creative writing fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. His writing has been included in the New Yorker, Ploughshares, Best American Poetry 1994, Best American Poetry 2010, and Best American Poetry 2019.

McDaniel received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from George Mason University. He teaches at Sarah Lawrence College and lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife, daughter, and dog.
