Laura Spinney is an author and science journalist who lives in Paris. She has published two novels, The Doctor and The Quick . Her third book of non-fiction—Rue Centrale—came out in 2013 from Editions L’Age d’Homme (in French and English). Her fourth, also non-fiction, is an account of the 1918 “Spanish” flu pandemic entitled Pale Rider: The Spanish Flu of 1918 and How It Changed the World. She reports on science and medicine for The Guardian, New Statesman, Nature, and The Economist among others.
