Glory Edim
On November 18, Glory Edim will perform Joe’s Pub for Seriously Entertaining, speaking on the theme “My Family and Other Tragedies.”
Edim is a writer, entrepreneur, and literary advocate whose work celebrates literature as a source of connection and healing. She is the founder of Well-Read Black Girl, a nationwide literary community dedicated to Black women. Through her acclaimed anthologies Well-Read Black Girl and On Girlhood, Edim has amplified a chorus of voices that explore identity, belonging, and self-definition. In her more recent memoir, Gather Me, Edim turns inward—tracing the roots of her own story with the same warmth and intentionality that have defined her curatorial work.
Edim’s work has earned her the Innovator’s Award from the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes and the Madam C. J. Walker Award from the Hurston/Wright Foundation. She serves on the board of Baldwin for the Arts and continues to expand Well-Read Black Girl as a platform for community, creativity, and self-reflection—including the podcast Well-Read with Glory Edim and online writing workshops.
