Daniel Jones has been the editor of the weekly “Modern Love” column at The New York Times since its inception in 2004. He reflects on his decades-long role in the introduction to the anthology Modern Love, Revised and Updated—which he also edited. In addition to his work on the “Modern Love” column, Jones has edited the collections Love Illuminated: Exploring Life’s Most Mystifying Subject (with the Help of 50,000 Strangers) and The Bastard on the Couch: 27 Men Try Really Hard to Explain Their Feelings About Love, Loss, Fatherhood, and Freedom. He also authored the novel After Lucy, which was a finalist for the Barnes & Noble Discover Award. Outside of writing and editing, Jones regularly appears on the Modern Love podcast. and is a consulting producer for Amazon’s Modern Love television series.
