Emily Wilson

Emily performed on stage for Seriously Entertaining at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater on November 13, 2018, speaking on the evening’s theme, “Divided We Stand.”

Emily Wilson is a Professor of Classics at the University of Pennsylvania.  In 2006, she was named a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome in Renaissance & Early Modern scholarship.  She frequently reviews for The Times Literary Supplement, The London Review of Books, and The New Republic. She is the classics editor for the Norton Anthology of World Literature and Western Literature. She is the first woman to ever translate Homer’s The Odyssey.
