Monica Ferrell

Monica led a Summer Writing Workshop for SpeakTogether at Talent Unlimited High School on July 10, 2017 and July 13, 2017. Monica also performed at a SpeakTogether student matinee at Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood, Brooklyn, on December 1, 2017, speaking on the theme, “You Only Live Once.”

Monica Ferrell is a poet and novelist. Ferrell’s debut poetry collection, Beasts for the Chase, was chosen by Jane Hirshfield for the Kathryn A. Morton Poetry Prize. Ferrell’s novel, The Answer Is Always Yes, was named a Borders Original Voices selection and was one of Booklist’s Top Ten First Novels of 2008. Her honors include a Discovery/The Nation Prize and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University.
